Thank you to GaYBOR members, The Key West Business Guild for setting the example for all us across America. The Key West Business Guild supports LGBT owned, managed, and friendly businesses in and associated with Key West. They do this by promoting LGBT travel to Key West through marketing many LGBT related events and activities. They even get financial support from the city and the Monroe County Tourism Board

    These 2 local Yborite pioneers, way before GaYBOR was thought of and true artisans that make up today’s historic Ybor City. The 2 are property owners in the historic district, stain glass makers, wrought iron imaginaires, lighting idealist creators and most outgoing and friendly. They started their historic Ybor endeavors in mid 1970’s. Ybor City was more of a bohemian community and so crafty back then.
    The light bridges on 7th Ave were created by the couple along with the artsy iron shank waste trash bins. They are founding members of GaYBOR District since the founding in 2007.
    Always willing to help in local projects and to serve on local committees. Up until this year the couple spent their summers in Pennsylvania.

    A founding member of GaYBOR!!! Bernini’s is located in the former Bank of Ybor City. Owner Jason Fernandez and manager Bill are always coming up with some great cuisine ideas.     Centro Ybor, LTD, the new mall in central historic Ybor City, have been a member since the beginning of GaYBOR District Coalition and great team players in all historic Ybor City Events. Providing and managing a mall right smack in the middle of the old historic district, They have a modernized mall and commons area in the historic district including restaurants; Hamburger Mary’s, Carne, the Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Samarai Blue . Other businesses include Muvico Theatres, Joeffry’s, Tampa Improv and 6 major business office complexes. Plus so much more.
    This week they are hosting Centro Ybor’s concerts for the TECO Line Streetcars 10 Year Anniversary. They also have the huge Ybor Holiday Spirit Christmas Tree on there property also.
Centro Ybor property owners are M&J Wilkow, LTD in Chicago. Senior VP David Harvey, Vivian, Carl and staff all have helped all of historic Ybor City and Tampa. We Congratulate You on All Your Successes.

    Row Boat Mediterranean Cuisine / R Bar have been great supporters of GaYBOR District. The gyros and special daily ‘Mediterranean Dish of the Day’ are really scrumptious. And recently the owners, Jad & Jordan have opened an Ybor fun getaway bar called, R Bar! The restaurant makes daily the great deserts including Bakalava, besides the Greek salads, Dolmas (Stuffed Grape Leaf) appetizers, Turkish Coffee and yes, the Gyros, Kabobs and Falafel!
    Their very special event is coming October 18th at 5PM. Their Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and local leaders celebrating the newly opened establishments to GaYBOR /Ybor City. Located on the corner opposite MC FILM at 8th Ave and 15th Street. Everyone is invited to help celebrate.

    Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival

This years Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival will be Oct 5- 13th. The 2012 TIGLFF Launch Party is Sept. 21, 6:30 at Tampa Museum of Art. Also a novel Food Truck Rally is October 5th, 6-11PM at Tampa Theatre.
    The newly released festival films will be shown at the Tampa Theatre &  Muvico in St. Pete. www.TIGLFF.com
