Dear members of the LGBTQIA+ community,

In light of the current stressful circumstances and intense uncertainty, it is important for us to come together as a community. To demonstrate our unity and support, we will be participating in the Tampa Pride Diversity Parade (March 29, 2025) once again this year as a group called Tampa Pride Transgender Family, Friends and Allies.

If you are interested in joining us for the parade, please email me at Ru@tampapride.org for more information. My email is also open if you need any help or simply a listening ear. I may not be able to do more then help you find resources or feel less alone but please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime.

Years ago, a friend called us very excited that a photo of him was on the site “People of Walmart!” He was in too tight and too short shorts with a can of nuts at the return counter. Hair was a mess and wearing a torn t-shirt. Then several people told him this was not a good thing and people were laughing at him. TRUE! Fast forward to this past week. Groups in Ybor City were excited to share a post that the building on 7^th Ave & 14^th, across the street from The Haya Hotel was on “Abandoned Florida, com” ( https://www.facebook.com/abandonedfl ) this was not a complement to Ybor City. Just the opposite.

For 29 years we owned “MC Film” stores. Located in 9 locations across 5 towns. The longest running LGBTQIA store in American. Every day people would come in and ask “What’s Good to watch?” We would laugh and say if you like what we like, then you will like….. Then we start to call our favorites RATED RQV – Required Queer Viewing. LMAO The new film Emilia Perez is one of these films. Proudly we rate this film RQV. ‘Emilia Pérez’ leads Oscar nominations with 13.
