Just a two hour comfortable drive south is Savannah, GA. This was our main destination. Along the side roads we traveled we stopped at small roadside produce & gift stands. Have you ever tried homemade Peach Cider?
We have been here several times and always have a wonderful time. We were in town for our niece Meagan’s Wedding. More details to come on day 4. Our sister made reservations at the nationally famous award winning B&B, 1895 Inn www.the1895inn.net , a Victorian Bed & Breakfast. Located with in walking distance to everything. The 4 story brick stone B&B is owned by a great gay personable couple, Bob & Ed and is over seen by their pet dog, Dudley the King of the Castle. The well adorned historic specific designed bedrooms are awesome and ours super comfortable. Early morning handmade breakfast brunch & homemade condiments were divine. Baked stuffed Ricotta French Toast with generous amounts of freshly whipped cream & honey drizzled over 5 berries, southern hardwood smoked bacon & hand squeezed orange juice was plentiful. Each day a different set of china is used as well as one of the 20 patterns of silver. Most elegant. There isn’t any loss of great southern hospitality here, It was beyond excellent.
It is easy to see what it’s named as one of the top B&B in America. We recommend this be your 1st pick of a place to stay when visiting Savannah. After a walking tour past the home from the infamous movie, “In the Garden of Good & Evil” it was on to the Savannah’s historic famed River Walk for cocktails.
That night we had dinner with the Bride & Groom. We had made Bride’s SECURITY T-Shirts for the special night outing. LOL
