Now that all the invitations have been mailed many of you have been writing in and asking how you can help ensure the success and continuation of the party. There are two specific ways you can help this year:
-
Help build decorations:
Your hosts are planning another spectacular party for you again this year. There are many decorations that have been designed to transform MOSI into our Dystopia! Your hosts will be busy on multiple weekends between now and the night of the party cutting, painting and assembling all the goodies. If you’re interested in volunteering to assist with the painting and assembly, you may sign up to do so by completing the volunteer form by Clicking Here. -
Help the night of the party:
No costume? Then become a staff volunteer! Volunteers are needed the night of the party to help direct guests, ensure the stairways are kept clear, check tickets and assist with general crowd control. Shifts will be approximately 1.5 hours each. You will be provided with an official “All Hallows Masquerade Ball Volunteer” T-shirt which is yours to keep and wear the entire night of the party. Everyone will know that YOU helped out! If you think that you may enjoy helping in this capacity then Click Here! Some of your hosts were volunteers at first! Please respond no later than October 15th. But why not do it right now?!?That’s all for now. More to come soon…

*The Annual Tampa All Hallows Masquerade Ball is a “by invitation only” not for profit event arranged by the hosts for their friends and invited guests. It is not a commercial event.
National Coming Out Day, October 11th
National Coming Out Day (NCOD) is an internationally observed civil awareness day for coming out and discussion about people that are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (LGBT), etc. It is observed by members of the LGBT communities and their supporters (often referred to as “allies”) on October 11 every year, or October 12 in the United Kingdom.
NCOD was founded in 1988 by Robert Eichberg, a psychologist from New Mexico and Jean O’Leary, an openly-gay political leader from Los Angeles, on behalf of the personal growth workshop The Experience and National Gay Rights Advocates.
The date of October 11 was chosen because it was the anniversary of the 1987 National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights
National Anti Bullying Day Oct 17, 2013
On October 17, 2013 millions of Americans will take a stand against bullying by wearing purple on Spirit Day in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth. GLAAD is once again working to secure the participation of partner organizations, as well as celebrities, corporations, media outlets, schools and local communities. By going purple on Spirit Day, National Safe Schools Roundtable can easily demonstrate its support for the LGBT community, while taking a stand against bullying.
