There was a Gay Bar on Central Ave in St. Petersburg called DT’s. The club and building was sold to Grand Central Station. I worked several years here. My 1st day a guy walks into the club and orders a beer. He then said to me there was a key on the cash register with his name and $1.oo beers. I laughed and to my surprise there was a dollar key!!! His name was Dwayne. He was the previous owners of the club. In the sale of the club he had negotiated dollar beers. He told me that DT’s meant Dwayne’s Turn. Several of his friends had been owners and now it was his turn. LMAO We became good friends and at his garage sale we purchased his light from over the pool table. This is just one more of the Gay Historical items we have at our upcoming estate sale. FMI https://www.facebook.com/events/448018662632675/?active_tab=discussion
