Tampa Bay Lightning Watch Party in Ybor City

GO BOLTZ!!!Last night the Lightning beat the Capitals 4 to 1. In Centro Ybor there were 2 large jumbo screen put up. The traffic on 7th ave was stopped from 15th street to 21st street. This was the 1st time there was a watch party in Ybor City. What a huge SUCCESS! What an incredible fun celebration of what’s right in Tampa Bay. The pre party was off the chain fun with floating cameras catching people on the huge screens! I’m not sure what liquor license permit the event promoter got but I hope others can now get the same one. Everybody was enjoying drinks on the street with no fences while the police looked on. Can’t wait for the next Tampa Bay Lightning Viewing Party YBOR CITY STYLE!!!

Obituary

Chuck Temple, Tampa GLBT Pioneer Passes

A founder of Tampa Pride in the early days of 1980’s at USF passed away suddenly in the arms of his partner, George Bower Tuesday night at his home in South St. Pete.. His death was determined to have been from bronchitis. The couple was coming back from a cruise to relax from a busy selling season. Temple & Associates, Inc are reps in the adult industry, greeting cards, clothing lines and other mfgr products in southeast United States.

Chuck and partner, George had owned the Paradise Trading Stores in Madeira Beach and in South Tampa in the 1980’s & 1990’s. A store full of greeting cards, tableware and seasonal items for the home decor.

Chuck was a very dear friend to us and the family at Suncoast Resort Hotel. We went on many trips, Sawmill camp outs and events together.

Chuck started as a clothing buyer for the now closed Robinson Dept Store chain and then to that had been in Hyde Park Village and specialty malls in Florida, Georgia, North & South Carolina, Ohio & Michigan. That is when he started his own mfgr rep business.

Chuck’s husband George live in St. Pete and his mother and 2 sisters and families live in Tampa.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held in Tampa. Date to be announced later.
