Space Coast Pride

A beautiful weekend for the growing and 2nd year Space Coast Pride as held by Cape Canaveral in the historic Eau Gallie Art District. Over 100 vendors were set up on the hot fall day. We are proud that TAMPA PRIDE participates in both their Parade & Festival.
The theme of this years Pride was “Community Heroes”. The organization saluted the murdered 49 members that were murdered and the 100’s who were wounded at Pulse Night Club in Orlando. Carrying individual placards with the deceased club  attending members names and pictures  was carried by the Brevard Youth Alliance. Following was a group carrying large 3′ white dove balloons. At the moment of silence for the Pulse victims was the release of the large balloons next to the convention center and in the middle of the festival. President Lexi Wright and her volunteers did another fantastic job.
This year honored Pride Grand Marshals went to Orlando WFTV ABC TV affiliate news anchor Jorge Estevez and his TV co-anchor Martha Sugalski. The very popular gay Hispanic reporter who covered the Pulse Night Club tragedy was saluted and honored along the parade route.
Coming up October 8th is Come Out With Pride Celebration in Orlando. The event will be covered very heavily by local and national media. An estimated 150,000 attendees is expected to participate.
