BREAKING NEWS…..
TAMPA PRIDE Receives 501 c(3) Status
Great news arrived Tuesday for the new locally formed TAMPA PRIDE Committee. Sometimes getting a letter from the IRS isn’t good news but in this case it was a very jubilant correspondence. TAMPA PRIDE received the letter granting the organization an IRS 501 c(3) recognition as a non profit that has its contributions and donations given 100% tax deductibility from its donors & sponsors. TAMPA PRIDE is proudly partnering with over a dozen Tampa Bay area non profit organizations for the upcoming festivities.
TAMPA PRIDE Parade and Festival is set for March 26-29, 2015 in historic GaYBOR/ Ybor City. Other events will be held prior for fundraising benefits including a variety of Dine Out for TAMPA PRIDE events held at restaurants in Tampa Bay. Also a couple of Hamburger Mary’s BINGO, Ybor City Wine Bar Sampling Benefit and area gay & straight bars & clubs having a variety of TAMPA PRIDE charity benefits.

Transylvania Romania
Every Halloween when people hear Transylvania. People think about Dracula. Actually Transylvania is an historic region, like a county, in the center of Romania. Directly to the West is the region of Banat Romania. This is where our family is from. The towns name is Sannicolau Mare, which translates into Saint Nicholas the Great. A documentary film called “A Thousand Dollars and Back” Recollections of Early Romanian Immigration to Minnesota.” was just released. In this film there are 8 photos from our family.
This would make the perfect Holiday gift for anyone with roots in Romania. This one-hour documentary, narrated by Don Shelby, is the result of a collaboration between Heritage Organization of Romanian Americas in Minnesota (HORA) and Romanian Genealogy Society (RGS), and funded by two Minnesota Legacy Grants from the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
